Hilltops Update

During the last 6 months the Practice has had to radically change the way in which we see and consult with patients. These changes have been implemented to keep our patients and our staff as safe as possible. We expect most of you will appreciate we are still in a very worrying time of managing the risks of what easing these lockdown restrictions could mean to our communities.
NHS England has published a standard operation procedure which Surgeries must comply with. A vital part of this procedure is to minimise footfall through the practice and to operate a “remote management appointment system” while ensuring appropriate face to face appointments. This means for us and for our patients that prior to being seen by a Clinician you will be assessed in remote style, this could be submitting an online consultation via our website at

https://access.klinik.co.uk/contact/hilltops-medical-centre.

There are Four ways to seek medical help if you need to the contact surgery

1) Visit our website and submit your request there for arranging or cancelling appointments/prescriptions or any other queries
2) Call the surgery if you cannot access our website or have no internet access
3) Call 111
4)Visit NHS app to request or cancel an appointment/ prescriptions

You will either have a online consultation, Telephone consultation, Video Consultation or Face to Face based on the need and appropriateness.

We are encouraging patients to attend the practice for their routine blood tests, health checks, immunisations and any appointments as advised by the surgery, if and when they receive an invitation.
Strict infection control measures and appropriate PPE is part of taking all precautions so that we can protect both patients and staff.
We understand that some patients will be reluctant to come to the practice but we are doing all we can to minimise the risk of infection.
At present (and weather permitting) we’re not allowing patients to wait in the waiting room as the number outside is manageable and helps to minimise close contact for patient and staff safety.
We are however asking patients to wear a face covering when they attend the practice.
Social Distancing Measures should be followed when asked to attend the Practice

The team here at Hilltops is doing everything they can to keep us all safe. Every decision made is in the best interest of our patients and our community.

Please seek medical advice if required. See the surgery opening hours. Stay Safe.

Update regarding routine reviews for patients with long term or chronic conditions.

Due to Covid, all routine checks had been put on hold for a few months. For the last couple of months, we have started inviting our patients with chronic conditions for their routine review. You will be getting an invite from us in due course for a review if you have any long term or chronic conditions. Please feel free to contact the surgery if you have any concerns before your review appointment is arranged. Many thanks for all your support and understanding.
